【摘要】:Densityisafundamentalphysicalpropertythatcanbeusedinconjunctionwithotherpropertiestocharacterizethesandwichcore.Mostsandwichcorestructuralproperties,suchasstrengthandstiffness,areproportionaltothedensity.Thistestmethodprovidesastandardmethodofobtainingsandwichcoredensitydatafordesignproperties,materialspecifications,researchanddevelopmentapplications,andqualityassurance.Factorsthatinfluencethedensityandshallthereforebereportedincludethefollowing:corematerial,methodsofmaterialfabrication,coregeometry(nominalcellsize),specimengeometry,specimenpreparation,methodsofweightanddimensionalmeasurement,specimenconditioning,andmoisturecontentduringweightanddimensionalmeasurements.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthedensityofsandwichconstructioncorematerials.Permissiblecorematerialformsincludethosewithcontinuousbondingsurfaces(suchasbalsawoodandfoams)aswellasthosewithdiscontinuousbondingsurfaces(suchashoneycomb).1.2ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.2.1Withinthetexttheinch-poundunitsareshowninbrackets.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
