【摘要】:ThisStandardprovidesguidanceforthedesignandapplicationofmodelsbythoseconcernedwiththeextensionorsupplementationofprototypetestsofequipmentusingASMEPerformanceTestCodes.Wheretherearetestcodesinexistencecoveringspecificequipment,theguidingprinciples,instrumentsandmethodsofmeasurementfromsuchcodesshallbeusedwithonlysuchmodificationsasbecomenecessarybyvirtueofthefactthatamodelisbeingtestedinsteadofaprototype.Amodelisadevice,machine,structureorsystemwhichcanbeusedtopredictthebehaviorofanactualandsimilardevice,machine,structureorsystemwhichiscalledtheprototype.Aphysicalmodelmaybesmallerthan,thesamesizeas,orlargerthantheprototype.PTC19.23consistsof(a)Generaldiscussionofmodeltesting;(b)Exampleproblems;and(c)Theoreticalbackground.

【摘要】:TheCleanWaterActpromulgatedtheimplementationofwaterqualitystandardsandcontaminationlimitsforawiderangeofpollutantsincludingoilandgrease.Specifically,theUSEPA,in40CFRCh.1,prohibitsx201C;thedischargesofoilthatcauseafilmorsheenuponorcausediscolorationofthesurfaceofthewater...x201D;Severalstateandlocalagencieshaveadoptedthisstatementinadditiontosettingconcentrationlimits,thatis,15mg/Loreven5mg/L.Thepurposeofthispracticeistoevaluatetheperformanceofaseparatorinregardstotheregulationsanduserrequirementswhensubjecttoasuddenrelease.Thesuddenreleasemayoccurindryweatherandlocalpersonnelmayattempttohosethecontaminatedareadownoritmayoccuronarainydayandentertheseparatormixedinwiththerunoff.Thispracticeisnotapplicableiftheinfluenttoaseparatorissimplyrunofffromcontaminatedrainwater.Forthiscase,seePracticeD6104.Thispracticeisnotapplicableiftheinfluenttoaseparatorisconveyedbyapumpingmeans.1.1Thispracticecoverstheprocedure,anynecessaryrelatedapparatus,andthesamplingtechniquetobeusedindeterminingtheperformancecharacteristicsofoil/waterseparatorssubjectedtocontaminatedrun-off.1.2Thispracticedoesnotaddressthedeterminationoftheperformancecharacteristicsofanoil/waterseparatorsubjectedtothesuddenreleaseofarelativelylargequantityofhydrocarbonsthatmayappear,inpureformorathighconcentration,intheinfluenttotheseparator.Inthiscase,refertoPracticeD6157.1.3Thispracticedoesnotaddressthedeterminationoftheperformancecharacteristicsofanoil/waterseparatorsubjectedtoamechanicallyemulsifiedinfluentsuchasprovidedbyapump.1.4Thispracticedoesnotinvestigatetheabilityoftheseparatortohandledebrisorsuspendedsolids,thatis,gritortreeleaves.1.5Whiletheeffluentmaymeetcoderequirementsfortotaloilandgreasecontent,thispracticedoesnotaddressthepresenceofsolubleorganics,i.e.,Benzene,Toluene,Ethyl-benzeneandXylene(BTEX''s)whichmaybedetectedintheeffluent.Italsodoesnotmakeanyprovisionsfortheeffectsofdetergents,surfactants,soaps,oranywatersolublematter(thatis,salts),oranyportionofanessentiallyinsolublematterthatmaybefoundinsolutiononseparation.(Effectsofcertainwatersolublechemicalsorsolidsmaybeinvestigatedbyaddingthemtothewateratpredeterminedconstantconcentrations.)1.6Inordertoestimatetheeffectofwatertemperatureontheperformanceoftheseparator,thetestsdescribedinthispracticemustbeperformedattwowatertemperatures.Theselectedtemperaturesmustbeatleast10176;C(18176;F)apart,withthetemperaturerangingfromaminimumof0176;C(32176;F)toamaximumof50176;C(122176;F).1.7ThispracticedoesnotmakeanyprovisionsforthevariationofpHortemperatureduringatestrun.RefertoAppendixX1forfurtherdetail.1.8Thispracticecanbeusedwithavarietyofhydrocarbons.ItadoptsNo.2fueloilwithadensityof845kg/m3(52.73lbm/ft3)andaviscosityof1.9to4.1centistokesat40176;C(104176;F)andSAE90lubricatingoilwithadensity(SeeSAEJ313)of930kg/m3(58lbm/ft3)at15.5176;C(60176;F)andaviscosity(seeSAEJ306)of13.5to60;24centistokesat100176;C(212176;F)asthecomparativetestingmedia.ItisunderstoodthattheresultsobtainedfromthispracticeareonlydirectlyapplicabletoNo.2fueloilandSAE90lubricatingoilforthetestedconcentrationsandonlycarefulinterpolationorextrapolation,orboth,isallowedtootherhydrocarbons.Lowviscos......
